DirectorsText Box: Jacquie Kunzman Artistic Director  Jacquie Kunzman, owner and director of the Jacquie Kunzman School of Ballet in Oregon City, has been a member of the dance world for more than 55 years.  Trained in Portland by the noted Russian master Nicholas Vasilieff, she also studied with Leon Fokine and Alexandra Fedorova of New York, and Mme. Beheffi and Leon Varkas of California. Ms. Kunzman was a soloist with the Los Angeles Opera and Ballet Company and the Portland Opera Association.  She has performed in several television specials, as well. For  many years, Ms. Kunzman has directed and managed dance schools on the West Coast.  She was director of the Academy of Ballet Oregon, and a faculty member of the Jefferson High School Performing Arts Program in Portland.   Text Box: Nina Vasilieff Raimondo Nutcracker Associate Director  Nina Vasilieff Raimondo received her education in ballet from her father, renowned teacher Nicholas Vasilieff. She continued her studies with Alexandra Fedorova, Leon Fokine, Igor Youskevitch and Anna Scarpova. She has danced and choreographed for the Portland Opera and served on the faculty of the Academy of Ballet Oregon, Metro Performing Arts and the Jacquie Kunzman School of Ballet. Ms. Raimondo has danced classical and interpretive Spanish as a guest artist with Morca Danche Theatre and has been a guest teacher throughout the Northwest as well as in  Montevideo, Uruguay and Scandinavia. She attended the Pacific Northwest College of Art and has designed sets and costumes for opera and ballet. She choreographed and designed The Oregon Trail for the Sorbyhaugen Dance College in Oslo, Norway. Her collaboration with Ms. Kunzman on The Nutcracker is but one of several joint projects on which the pair has worked.
